THE PALAWAN STATE UNIVERSITY FORMALLY AND PUBLICLY ANNOUNCES THAT THE SEARCH FOR ONE (1) PRIVATE SECTOR REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE PALAWAN STATE UNIVERSITY BOARD OF REGENTS (BOR) IS EXTENDED, WITH THE DEADLINE OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS EXTENDED UNTIL FEBRUARY 20, 2023.
- The PSR applicant shall be a Filipino citizen and of legal age;
- The PSR applicant shall be from an industry, business, or profession preferably related to the charter or mandate of Palawan State University;
- The PSR applicant shall have a minimum of 10 years term of service in an industry, business or profession related to the Palawan State University’s legal mandate or mandates;
The PSR applicant shall have an extensive record of employment, business, expertise and connection with the private sector;
Furthermore, if the PSR applicant previously worked in any capacity with a government entity or was a consultant in any government undertaking of whatever nature, the proportion of the time the applicant served in government shall not exceed one fourth of the entire time the applicant served in the private sector;
- The PSR applicant shall not in any way be presently employed or appointed to any position with any government (local, national, and in government owned and controlled, corporations) agency or entity, in any manner, be it full time or part time, at the time of his or her application for the PSR position;
- The PSR applicant shall not in any way be connected with the Palawan State University in any manner, for two years immediately prior to his or her application for the PSR position;
- The PSR applicant shall be domiciled in or a resident for at least two (2) years of the city or province where the University or its campuses are located;
- The PSR applicant shall not be related to any member of the present PSU Board of Regents or their duly-authorized representatives, within fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity;Further, the PSR applicant shall likewise not be related to any member of the Search Committee for the Private Sector Representative (SCPSR), within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity, or have personal, social, professional relationships; business interests or financial connections, or political party affiliations, to avoid conflict of interest.
- The PSR applicant shall not have been a candidate who lost in any national or local election, except for barangay elections, within one (1) year at the time of application for the PSR position.
- The PSR applicant may be endorsed by the industry, business and professional sectors represented by their organizations including socio-civic groups through a board resolution duly signed by the president and corporate secretary. A sector may endorse a maximum of two (2) applicants.
- All applications received on or before the deadline set by the SCPSR shall be subjected to screening and review by the SCPSR.
- At least 5 and not to exceed 8 candidates will be interviewed by the SCPSR and later on submitted to the BOR. The BOR shall elect one PSR from among those recommended by the Search Committee.
- The SCPSR reserves the right to verify, validate, and ascertain all statements made and the documents submitted by the candidates, and to disqualify any candidate should such verification, validation, and ascertainment uncover any misrepresentation or non-compliance with the stated eligibility requirements and conditions of the Search.

U.P. Campus, Diliman, Quezon City - Duly accomplished, computerized and notarized Personal Data Sheet (CSC Form 212);
- Documents in support of the data stated in the Personal Data Sheet;
- Certificate of Employment stating applicant’s present position in the private sector related to the industry, business or profession related to the SUC’s charter or mandate;
- Service Record of PSR Applicant who has been employed in the government at any point (if applicable);
- NBI Clearance;
- Signed and notarized Omnibus Sworn Statement (Appendix A), stating among others, the following :
- Commitment and Availability of the applicant to serve as PSR;
- Conforme to the Conditions of PSR as provided in Section 14 of Annex A of the 2022 revised IRR of RA8292 (Search, Qualification, and Selection of the Private Sector Representative (PSR)); and
- The applicant is not connected with Palawan State University;
- The applicant is not related to the governing Board of Palawan State University or their duly-authorized representatives and the SCPSR, within fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity.
- The applicant shall not have been a candidate who lost in any national or local election, except for barangay elections, within one (1) year at the time of the application for PSR position.
- Other documents, as may be required by the PSU governing Board.Appendix A: Omnibus Sworn StatementSWORN COMMITMENT AND AVAILABILITY OF THE PSR APPLICANT TO SERVE AS PSR, NONE CONNECTION WITH PSU, AND CONFORMANCE TO THE CONDITIONS OF THE PSRI, Mr./Ms.________________________________, residing at _______________________, do hereby depose and state that:
- Should I be appointed as a member of the Palawan State University Board of Regents representing the private sector, I will fully commit to make myself available and participate in all meetings and undertakings of the Palawan State University-Board of Regents whenever and wherever agreed upon.
- I further commit myself to effectively represent the Private Sector and link the institution and its programs to other organizations, sectors, companies and to the people in the community which may lead to the realization of its vision, mission, goals and objectives.
- In connection with my application for the PSR position:
- I certify that I am not connected with Palawan State University where I am applying to serve as PSR to the Board of Regents;
- I have not been a candidate who lost in any national or local election, except for barangay elections, within one (1) year at the time of my application for the PSR position.
- I am not related to:
- any member of the present governing Board of Palawan State University or their duly-authorized representatives, within fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity,
- any member of the Search Committee for the Private Sector Representative (SCPSR), within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity, or have personal, social, professional relationships; business interests or financial connections, or political party affiliations, with an applicant to avoid conflict of interest
- I will conform with terms of office and conditions of PSRs as follows:
- I will serve for a term of two (2) years, commencing from the time I take my oath of office as PSR.
- I will serve the full term of two (2) years.
- I shall not, after my term ends, act in a hold-over capacity.
- That, in case of death, incapacity, resignation, or other analogous reasons, the PSR’s position shall be deemed vacated. And that related to this, a new search process for a new PSR must be established in accordance with the pertinent provisions of the IRR of RA8292.
- I understand and agree that any failure to comply with or submit any of the requirements for the Search on time or a finding against the veracity of such may be used as ground for the undersigned’s disqualification from the Search.
