Puerto Princesa City- On April 2, 2024, the University conducted an Official Turn-over Ceremony and Send-off Meeting for Dr. Amabel S. Liao, former PSU Vice-President for Finance & Administration, and now the 4th President of Western Philippines University.
The event began with a ceremony to acknowledge the contributions of Dr. Amabel S. Liao, the former VPFA. The University President, Dr. Ramon M. Docto formally bid her farewell, recognizing her exceptional leadership skills and extensive experience in finance and administration by presenting her with a Plaque of Appreciation. Dr. Liao’s successful tenure at PSU has equipped her to lead WPU and bring about positive changes in the institution’s financial management and overall administration. Following the tribute to Dr. Liao, the event proceeded with the announcement of Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada as Acting Vice President for Finance and Administration. Dr. Limpiada was warmly welcomed by Dr. Docto and other university officials, signifying their support for his new role. To conclude the event, farewell tokens and messages were presented to Dr. Liao from the university officials, expressing their gratitude for her service and wishing her well in her future endeavors.
In her farewell address, Dr. Liao expressed her gratitude to the University for its unwavering support throughout her nearly 22 years of service. She extended her well wishes to the University, hoping for their continued success in all their future endeavors. Dr. Liao acknowledged the privilege of working alongside the University community, emphasizing the profound impact it had on both her professional and personal growth. She assured that the University will forever hold a special place in her heart. Dr. Liao expressed her appreciation for the support received and urged everyone to remember that they will always be cherished. She emphasized the importance of cooperation and teamwork, urging less competition and more collaboration. In conclusion, Dr. Liao called upon everyone to work together towards the shared mission of success for their beloved Palawan.
