Escorted by their proud parents, the fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering students are the inaugural group participants in the said ceremony.
The ceremony aims to institutionalize Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) within the CEAT community, recognize the hard work and dedication of CEAT students in their academic journey towards becoming morally and responsibly qualified engineers, as well as their industry readiness before field deployment.
CEAT Dean Engr. Roy C. Dayupay delivered a welcome address. He congratulated the engineering students on their achievement and wished them a successful and prosperous journey ahead.
In the introductory address, CSG Gov. Gene Eisen Lois B. Nale said “Patuloy lang tayo sa ating pangarap and we will reach the highest point in our [lives] as Civil Engineer[s].”
Engr. Minerva Cañete encourage the students in her opening remarks “May your hard hats be a source of inspiration and pride as you continue your journey of growth.”
Guest speaker Engr. Alvin Alcosaba said “Let your hard hats serve as resilience and the face of diversity and wear it with pride.” He also reminded the students to be grateful for their parents, teachers, and most importantly to God.
In closing remarks, PalawanSU Student PICE President Caryl Jan C. Pacomios emphasized to her fellow students that despite the distance still to be covered, they have already come a long way on their journey. She reminded them to stay focused and determined about achieving their dreams.
During the ceremony, the students donned hard hats and pins bearing the emblem of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineering. This momentous occasion also served as a heartfelt tribute to their parents. The students expressed their deep gratitude for their parents’ sacrifices by presenting them with flowers and gifts, a poignant reminder that every success is built on a foundation of love and support.
It is appreciated the pivotal role of President Caryl Jan C. Pacomios of the PalawanSU Student Chapter of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers and Governor Gene Eisen Lois B. Nale of the CEAT Student Government as they initiated the hard hatting ceremony. Their esteemed College stands proudly behind them, recognizing their significant contributions.
