The Palawan State University (PalawanSU), in celebration of its 30th Anniversary celebration today, held a solemn Thanksgiving Mass at the PalawanSU Gymnasium. The event was graced by esteemed university officials, faculty, staff, and students, who gathered to offer thanks for the institution’s three decades of academic excellence and community service.
Presiding over the Mass was Rev. Fr. Francis Mark Guzman, who delivered a heartfelt homily. The homily focused on PalawanSU’s pivotal role in shaping the future of Palawan and its unwavering commitment to providing quality education. The congregation was invited to reflect on the university’s journey, acknowledging its significant contributions to the province and the nation. As the Mass concluded, attendees were filled with gratitude and renewed hope for the future of PalawanSU.
Following the Mass, the university community again convened at the same venue for the official opening program. The event featured a captivating opening ceremony that highlighted the university’s rich history and significant milestones. The Welcome Remarks was delivered by Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), followed by the Inspirational Message from Dr. Ramon M. Docto, University President, who expressed his gratitude for the university’s achievements and aspirations for the future. Dr. Maila N. Lucero, Vice President for Academic Affairs, also expressed her gratitude to everyone who attended the opening program and emphasized the significance of the 30th anniversary of PalawanSU. She also acknowledged the milestones and successes achieved over the past three decades.
A series of cultural performances showcased the diverse talents of PalawanSU School of Talents and Sining Palawan Dance Troupe, paying homage to the region’s vibrant heritage. This was followed by a brief multimedia presentation of the historical developments of PalawanSU, and the presentation of collection of old photographs of the university.
The PalawanSU’s 30th Pearl University Day celebration is a testament to its unwavering dedication to academic excellence, research, and community engagement. As the university enters its fourth decade, it remains committed to producing globally competitive graduates and contributing to the sustainable development of Palawan and the nation.
