Palawan State University successfully conducted the Internationalization Strategic Planning Workshop in collaboration with Diaconia University of Applied Sciences (Finland) on December 22, 2025, at the PSU Library – American Corner.

The workshop provided a valuable platform for faculty and key stakeholders to align institutional goals, enhance global competencies, and co-develop a strategic framework for the planning and implementation of future Ethical Reflection on Mental Health – Blended Intensive Programs (BIP). It also fostered the exchange of best practices, strengthened cross-cultural collaboration, and expanded opportunities for faculty and student mobility, joint research, and international learning experiences.

The activity was enriched by the presence of Dr. Margarita Sakilayan-Latvala, Senior Lecturer from Diaconia University of Applied Sciences, who served as the resource speaker, sharing valuable insights and expertise that contributed to meaningful discussions and strategic directions.

The event also featured the awarding of certificates to faculty and student participants of the BIP conducted in October 2025 in Helsinki, Finland, recognizing their active engagement in international academic initiatives.

Also present in the event are Dr. Maila N. Lucero, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lhynette T. Zambales, Director of Transnational Education, International Affairs and Linkages Office, Dr. Cheryll Anne C. Dator, University Registrar, Staff and Faculty Members, and BS Social Work Students.

This initiative reinforces Palawan State University’s commitment to internationalization, positioning the University as an active global partner dedicated to inclusive, innovative, and sustainable international collaborations that enrich teaching, learning, and research.
