PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan – The Search Committee for the Presidency (SCP) of Palawan State University (PalawanSU) convened a public forum on June 16, 2026, to formally introduce the seven candidates vying for the institution’s top administrative post.
The event, held at the PalawanSU Amphitheater and broadcasted live on Facebook, served as a platform for university stakeholders to get to know each aspirant. Dr. Rodolfo O. Abalus Jr., Dr. Vilma Venus G. Andoy, Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, Dr. Evangeline B. Mandia, Dr. Carlos Alfonso C. Salvador, Dr. Jerry I. Teleron, and Dr. Frances Muriel L. Tuquero each presented their vision and strategic development plans for the University before the PalawanSU community.
After their presentations, the candidates answered a set of questions from Private Sector Representative Dr. Erlinda Ganapin, Faculty Representative Mr. Jonathan Dangan, Alumni Representative Mr. Adel Abia, Non-Teaching Staff Representative Ms. Joy Morales, and Student Representative Ms. Andrea Sanchez. Additionally, they fielded questions drawn from the audience fishbowl.
Members of the PalawanSU Board of Regents present during the forum were Private Sector Representative Dr. Maria Chona J. Lacao-Sibal, Faculty Regent Dr. Janet B. Oab, and Student Regent Mr. Jay Cze S. Dador.
The proceedings were overseen by the Search Committee for the Presidency chaired by Dr. Milabel E. Ho and composed of committee members Dir. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, Dr. Restie Allan A. Puno, and Mr. Ray U. Angluben while Dr. Raymond Rey and the Office of the University and Board Secretary organized the forum.
An evaluation process by the SCP continued in the afternoon for individual interview, evaluation, and deliberation.
