PSU LJHS Sportsfest 2022 | November 22-24, 2022
Palawan State University Laboratory Junior High School (PSU LJHS) successfully held its first sportsfest since 2019. The exciting event was spearheaded by the PSU LJHS Student Body Government, under the supervision of Mr. Ahiah C. Presto, SBG Adviser. The fun games and sports were facilitated by Prof. Mary Juris Joy L. Ednilao and Ms. Hannah Grace O. Teves, over-all coordinators, together with the Student Teachers from Bachelor of Physical Education, LJHS Faculty Members, and personnel from the City Sports Office. The three-day activity would not have been possible without the help and support from the following:
– Prof. Editha B. Estrella, LJHS Principal
– Dr. Mary G. Alvior, College of Teacher Education Dean
– Prof. Vincent B. Esguerra, University Sports Director
– Dr. Ramon M. Docto, University President
– Hon. Lucilo Bayron, Mayor Puerto Princesa City
– Atty. Gregorio Austria, Director of Puerto Princesa City Sports Office
– Mr. Isagani Sibal
– Parents and guardians of LJHS students
The tight competition among three teams concluded with warm greetings and friendly acceptance from everyone. The Raging Mockingjays (Blue Team) finished as 2nd Runner Up, the Blazing Dragons (Green Team) landed as 1st Runner Up, while the Roaring Jaguars (Yellow Team) bagged the over-all championship.
Throughout the duration of the Sportsfest, all the PSU LJHS students demonstrated their various athletic and artistic skills, discovered potentials that they were previously unaware of, exerted effort and teamwork to overcome challenges that arose, and most importantly, developed sportsmanship through experiencing competitions first hand. As educator Sandeep Sahajpal said, “Sportsmanship cannot be taught, it can be inculcated in one’s persona through only one thing, called ‘SPORTS’, the LabHigh students did not only have fun but also learned life skills and values that they could use long after they finished their high school years.
KUDOS to all our students! Looking forward to more thrilling and meaningful activities with you this school year.
