Philippine universities took a big leap towards international collaboration by signing a partnership agreement with the prestigious Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) of Malaysia on June 21, 2024 at PalawanSU Amphitheater, Main Campus.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the result of a workshop held in Perak, Malaysia on May 2024, and signifies a commitment to boosting Philippine higher education’s global competitiveness. The collaboration aligns with CHED’s vision of propelling Philippine universities towards global excellence and innovation. Additionally, the strong support from the Provincial Government of Palawan led by Governor Hon. Dennis M. Socrates, and from the City Government of Puerto Princesa led by Mayor Hon. Lucilo R. Bayron, underscores the importance placed on this transformative initiative.
This MOU signing is a significant step forward in fostering international academic ties and promoting excellence in Philippine higher education. The collaborative efforts between CHED, UTP, and the participating PHEIs hold immense potential for enriching educational experiences, advancing research, and enhancing the global reputation of Philippine universities as leading centers of learning.
