PalawanSU Information Technology students, namely: Jubil Cabrestante, Karla Eryka Cabuhat, Angel Mae Gabayan, Mark Andrew Pagayon, and Allen Selga, presented their innovative Tagalog-Cuyonon Translator mobile app to the Provincial Government.
The project, which aims to bridge language gaps and strengthen the use of Cuyonon among locals, was introduced during a formal presentation at the Governor’s Conference Room on November 5, 2024. Accompanied by their thesis adviser, Ms. Maria Rizza Laudiano Armildez, the above-mentioned students outlined the app’s features, which facilitate seamless translation between Tagalog and Cuyonon.
By developing a Tagalog-Cuyonon translation app, Palawan State University students are directly contributing to the preservation and promotion of the Cuyonon language. This innovative solution not only enhances language learning and cultural understanding but also supports the goal of providing quality education that is relevant to the specific needs of the Cuyonon community. Through this initiative, the university empowers its students to be agents of change and contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
