Palawan State University proudly represented the Philippines at the Asian Society for Innovation and Policy (ASIP) Conference on September 9, 2024, held at the National University of Kaohsiung in Taiwan.

The conference opened with remarks from Dr. Chi-Jen Chen, President of National University of Kaohsiung, and Dr. Youngjoo Ko, President of ASIP. Key presentations followed, including Dr. Yong Jun Oh, President of Hanbat National University, who spoke on “University Innovation in a New Socio-economic Paradigm,” and Dr. KU, Young, CEO of the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy, who discussed “Challenges and Opportunities for Net-Zero in 2050.”

Dr. Ma. Josefina Abilay, Regional Director of DOST-MIMAROPA, actively participated in the Startup Enterprise Forum alongside global experts including Dr. Chen-Yu Lee, COO of Startup Terrace (Taiwan), Dr. Taewon Kang, Professor at Chungnam National University (South Korea), Mr. Sorato Ijichi, CEO of Creww (Japan), and Prof. Angelina Yee Seow Voon of Asia Pacific University (Malaysia).

In the afternoon, PalawanSU joined several key sessions, including Parallel Session 4 on Science Policy, Parallel Session 6 on Digital Transformation, and Special Session 8, an open table discussion with venture capitalists and startups.

As the conference progressed, PSU remained committed to driving innovation, promoting sustainable solutions, and contributing to the advancement of global knowledge and practices in education and research.
