Palawan State University (PalawanSU) officially launched “IGNITEing PSU, Phase 1: Strategic Kick-off from Vision to Direction, from Direction to Transformation” on November 4–5, 2026, at the PalawanSU Hostel in Puerto Princesa City. Spearheaded under the leadership of University President Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, the two-day activity established the foundational framework for the university’s upcoming 2027–2031 Strategic Roadmap.

The strategic initiative aims to transform the university’s institutional vision into actionable directives and operational improvements. Under its updated framework, PalawanSU seeks to position itself as a premier SMART-integrated glocal university focused on lifelong learning and sustainable development. The university’s mission centers on inclusive instruction, high-impact research, and community-embedded extension, guided by administrative integrity under the organizational ethos “Prinsipyo ang Gabay.”

To implement this agenda, PalawanSU presented the Coaster “V” Master Plan across six core strategic pillars. Key directives target campus governance decentralization and infrastructure development, including Project LIWANAG (primary metering and solar power implementation), Project LUPA-LAHAT (land titling), and Project BANTAY-PSU (campus security and West Philippine Sea awareness).

Academic and research initiatives include the establishment of Science & Technology Technoparks, community-embedded learning programs via Project BAYAN-ARAL, and intensive board examination review boot camps under Project TOPNOTCH and PASADO-LAHAT. Administrative processes and digital operations will be upgraded through full automation on the FROST Portal and accelerated procurement disbursements under Project SPEED-FIN.

The roadmap also emphasizes institutional accountability and employee welfare. Through Project MOA-TO-ACTION, PalawanSU is auditing existing institutional agreements, establishing a centralized registry, and requiring future partnerships to deliver measurable outcomes for students, faculty, and research initiatives. For internal operations and workforce care, the university is establishing single-window service desks via Project FAD C.A.R.E.S. alongside systemic job audits.

Phase 1 of the strategic kickoff sets an actionable trajectory for PalawanSU’s institutional developments leading up to 2031, grounded in its core philosophy: “Prinsipyo ang Gabay, Sikap ang Sandata, at Unlad ang Layon.”
