Palawan State University, through the Commission on Higher Education–UniFAST MIMAROPA, participated in the “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat” held on September 14, 2026, at the PGP Convention Center, Provincial Capitol, Puerto Princesa City.

The activity formed part of the nationwide simultaneous implementation of the Handog ng Pangulo program, which brings government programs, assistance, and services closer to communities through a one-stop service delivery.

The event provided an avenue for government agencies and partner institutions to deliver services and assistance directly to beneficiaries, including programs supporting education and student welfare.

The program formally opened with welcome remarks from Palawan Governor Amy Alvarez, followed by a message from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., delivered by his representative, DOTr Undersecretary Timothy John R. Batan.

Representing PalawanSU, Engr. Dexter Tanabe, Director of the Student Affairs Division, highlighted the importance of the activity in providing educational assistance to students.

Under the Handog ng Pangulo program, CHED-UniFAST MIMAROPA provided ₱10,000 each to 50 PalawanSU Student TES grantees, as part of the financial assistance given to beneficiaries across the MIMAROPA Region.

Engr. Tanabe said the initiative shows the government’s continued support for Filipino students and its efforts to make higher education more accessible. He also highlighted the role of CHED-UniFAST in helping students continue their studies.

The activity also gave students and other participants information about CHED and UniFAST scholarships and financial assistance programs, including opportunities that can help support their education.

The initiative brought together the efforts of CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, CHED MIMAROPA Regional Director Prof. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, Atty. Septon A. De La Cruz, OIC Executive Director IV of the UniFAST Secretariat, and PalawanSU President Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, among other partner agencies and stakeholders.

Through its participation, PalawanSU continues to support programs that connect students with government assistance and educational opportunities, helping ensure that students have access to financial support and information on available programs.

The Handog ng Pangulo program reinforces the government’s approach of bringing essential services closer to communities and making public assistance more accessible to Filipinos.
