The workshop aims to strengthen participants’ knowledge and skills in patent searching and drafting, equipping them with essential tools to identify, protect, and maximize the potential of research-based innovations.

During the opening program, PalawanSU President Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Southern Tagalog Innovation, Research, and Development Consortium (STIRDC), emphasized the importance of intellectual property protection in transforming academic research into practical innovations that benefit society.

The training features Engr. Roi Vincent C. Perez and Engr. Maria Concepcion S. Zabala of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), through its Intellectual Property Business Services and Development Division (IPBSDD), as resource speakers.

Through its participation, PalawanSU IPTTO reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the University’s intellectual property management and technology transfer initiatives, helping ensure that research outputs and innovations are protected and translated into meaningful societal impact.
