Again, as part of its 30th Pearl Anniversary, Palawan State University (PalawanSU) held its annual Gawad Parangal in the afternoon of 12 November, 2024 at the PalawanSU Amphitheater. This momentous occasion honored the invaluable contributions of PalawanSU’s dedicated retirees and outstanding staff members.
The event was made even more special by the presence of distinguished guests from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Field Office Palawan, including Field Director Marietta P. Santos, with her companions from the same office, Ms. Lorna Garcia, and Ms. Genessa Liaso.
The ceremony celebrated the dedication and hard work of the university’s retirees, who have dedicated countless hours to shaping the institution. Their retirement marked the end of a significant chapter in their professional lives, but their legacy will continue to inspire future generations of PalawanSU students and staff. Additionally, the Gawad Parangal recognized exceptional employees through the Loyalty Award and WOW Awards. These awards acknowledged outstanding performance, dedication to duty, and exemplary service of PalawanSU employees. The presence of CSC representatives added a significant level of prestige to the event, underscoring the importance of recognizing and rewarding public servants.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of PalawanSU for achieving Maturity Level 2 in the Human Resource Management (HRM) System Rewards and Recognition. This significant milestone is a testament to the university’s commitment to excellence in human resource management and good governance. The CSC representatives presented the certificate of recognition to the university, acknowledging its efforts to transform its HRMS and enhance the competencies of its personnel.
Generally, the 2024 Gawad Parangal was a memorable event that celebrated the achievements of PalawanSU and its dedicated workforce. The university’s success in achieving Maturity Level 2 in HRM System is a testament to its dedication to continuous improvement and its commitment to providing quality education and public service.
