Reaffirming its commitment to Gender and Development (GAD) for everyone, the Palawan State University Office of Gender and Development (PalawanSU OGAD) successfully conducted “JUAN HEALTH DAY” on July 30, 2026, at the 2nd Floor of the newly inaugurated Faculty Research Training Center. Carrying the slogan “Juan Step at a Time: Moving Toward a Healthier You,” the initiative served as the official counterpart to the free health services provided for female employees during Women’s Month last March. The event welcomed all male personnel across the university, including faculty members, regular staff, and Contract of Service (COS) employees.
The program kicked off at 8:00 AM with assembly and registration, followed immediately by opening remarks from Ms. Diana Jane D. Badua, OIC of OGAD, and an inspirational message from University President Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada. Representatives from event partners—the Puerto Princesa City Health Office and the Palawan Precious Life Foundation, Inc.—also shared messages of support before concluding the brief formal ceremony with a group photo opportunity.
Throughout the rest of the morning, attendees availed themselves of a comprehensive suite of free medical services facilitated by health professionals. The offerings included eye check-ups conducted by an ophthalmologist, general medical consultations, blood pressure monitoring, random blood sugar testing, and cholesterol testing. Additionally, attendees had access to affordable eye-care essentials, such as reading glasses and eye drops.
The wellness event wrapped up at 12:00 NN, marking another step forward in PalawanSU’s effort to champion holistic health and gender-inclusive programs for its workplace community.
