PALAWAN STATE UNIVERSITY (PalawanSU) conducted its weekly flag raising ceremony on October 5, 2026, at the PalawanSU Landmark, led by the Office of the University President, Office of the University Public Information, and Office of Human Resource Management.
The ceremony coincided with World Teachers’ Day, providing an opportunity to recognize the contributions of PalawanSU faculty members and the important role they play in shaping students and future professionals.
For the Food for Thought, the Director of the Office of the University Public Information emphasized that recognizing teachers should go beyond simply saying “thank you.” Meaningful appreciation, the director noted, also means providing teachers with consistent support, respect, time, and the tools they need to perform their work, particularly in a profession that carries significant responsibility.
In his University-wide Message During Flag Ceremonies, University President Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada extended his appreciation to both faculty and non-teaching personnel, recognizing their shared role in supporting the university and its students. He also noted the observances and national celebrations for October, including National Statistics Month, National Mental Health Month, National Indigenous Peoples Month, Elderly Filipino Week, and United Nations Week.
Dr. Limpiada also highlighted key accomplishments from the previous week across PalawanSU, including developments in the university’s external campuses, research and innovation, digital transformation, student achievement, community partnerships, workforce development, and quality management. Among these were the favorable results of the ISO 9001:2015 external surveillance audit at the Puerto Princesa Main Campus and the successful ISO audit of the Quezon Campus; infrastructure and partnership initiatives in Rizal and Linapacan; PalawanSU’s research and innovation achievements; the performance of university teams in technology competitions; the September 2026 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination results; and the university’s participation in cultural, community, and professional activities.
The President also recognized the Registrar’s Office for improvements in its facilities and frontline and online services, as well as PalawanSU personnel and colleges who received national recognition and successfully hosted major activities, including the Philippine Architecture and Allied Arts Festival 2026.
As the university begins a new week, the flag raising ceremony served as an opportunity to recognize the collective work of PalawanSU faculty and staff while reaffirming the university’s commitment to quality service, academic development, research and innovation, community engagement, and responsive public service.
