February 17, 2023 – With a theme, “Pre-Service Teachers: Primed for Quality Instruction in the New Normal”, the Palawan State University – College of Teacher Education (PSU CTE) held its Pinning Ceremony for the Pre-Service Teachers and Student Interns from the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) and Bachelor on Secondary Education (BSED) – different majors, as well as the Bachelor on Physical Education (BPED) at NCCC Mall Convention Center today, February 17.

The ceremony began with welcome remarks from Dr. Mary G. Alvior – the Dean of the College of Teacher Education, followed by a message from Dr. Elucila M. Sespeñe – Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Ramon M. Docto – University President, also gave his message to the pre-service teachers and interns.

The highlight of the event was the Pinning Ceremony Proper of 212 Pre-Service Teachers. After an introduction of the speaker which was given by Mr. Ronel A. Manapat, Student Intern from BEED, the student interns received a challenge from Dr. Mary Therese Cayetano – Castro, the guest of honor and speaker, and the Education Program Supervisor of the Schools Division of Palawan.

The interns then delivered their response to the challenge through Ms. Christine P. Borje – Student Intern from BEED, Ms. Jessica B. Maceda – Student Intern from BSED –Math major, and Mr. Mark Jude Cardejon – Student Intern from the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED). The student interns also took their pledge, led by Ms. Sarah A. Jose, student intern from BSED – English major, before the Pinning Ceremony concluded through the closing remarks which was given by Prof. Jenelyn C. Concepcion, Chairperson, Department of Secondary Education.
