On Tuesday, October 6, Palawan State University (PalawanSU) President Venzon L. Limpiada, alongside other university officials, attended the opening ceremony of a three-day Decentralization Planning and Policy Development Workshop for PalawanSU Municipal Campuses, held at the PalawanSU Roxas Campus.
The seminar-workshop gathers cluster and campus budget officers, cashiers, human resource officers, and procurement officers from Palawan State University’s Oriental, Occidental, Del Norte, Del Sur clusters, and PCAT Campus. Throughout the three-day event, participants will explore the legal and policy frameworks surrounding decentralization, proposed organizational structures, and standardized salary rates for contract-of-service (COS) faculty and staff. The training also covers budget management, resource allocation, and financial accountability frameworks, while diving into key administrative procedures including accounting, internal controls, procurement compliance, cashiering, cash accountability, and collection management.
President Limpiada expressed his hope for the operationalization of the “Institutional Identity through Decentralized Growth and Resilience” agenda under the university’s IGNITE plan. Emphasizing unity across all locations, he urged participants to depart with a shared dedication to a university whose campuses throughout Palawan operate with responsibility, sustainability, and pride as a single, cohesive PalawanSU.
