On September 23, 2024, Palawan State University held the Bidders Summit 2024, themed “Attaining Success in Bidding and Implementing Procurement Projects,” at the PSU Hostel. The event brought together various Philippine suppliers, contractors, and university administrators.

The summit commenced with opening remarks by Dr. Merlina Rago, Chief Finance Officer, followed by a welcoming address from University President Dr. Ramon M. Docto. Dr. Nelly I. Mendoza, Vice-Chair of the Bids and Awards Committee for Goods and Services, provided an overview of the program.

Esteemed presenters included Dr. Carlos Alfonso C. Salvador, who discussed the essentials for successful bidding in goods and services. Dr. Maila N. Lucero and Engr. Michael Ernie Rodriguez addressed the requirements for successful participation in bidding for infrastructure projects and consultancy services. Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada delivered an insightful presentation on ethics and practices in government procurement.

Additionally, Ms. Lilybeth Joy Mae A. Cuyo covered the preparation of bidding documents, while Engr. Alyssa Marie A. Bacolod focused on implementing infrastructure projects and contract management. Arch. Argie T. Tenorio discussed the inspection and acceptance of infrastructure projects, and Mr. Mark B. Timbancaya addressed the inspection and acceptance of goods and services projects. Finally, Mr. Arjay S. Felipe explained the rules and procedures for filing claims.

The program featured an engaging open forum, moderated by Mr. Francisco III O. Baluyut, and concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Lilybeth Joy Mae A. Cuyo, who expressed gratitude to all participants and the team behind this successful event.
