April 24, 2023 – The Palawan State University – Computer Studies Department of the College of Sciences, have hosted a Focus Group Discussion on the proposed revisions and enhancements of the BS Information Technology Program, as well as the feasibility of opening two new majors for the said program: the BSIT – Major in Cybersecurity and BSIT – Major in Software Engineering. This discussion was held last April 24, 2023, at the University’s Instructional Media Center, with a hybrid modality. Students from different schools in Puerto Princesa and representatives from the academe, industry, and government agencies and organizations attended.

Participants in this focus group discussion were able to provide their feedback and their insights on the proposed enhancements in the curriculum and the proposed new programs. According to the Computer Studies Department faculty members, who also served as the facilitators of the said discussion, all feedback will be consolidated and incorporated in the enhancement of the instruments to be used for data-gathering activities in connection with this proposal.

The event concluded with a photo opportunity with everyone present and the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Elucila M. Sespeñe, who visited the event.
