Palawan State U signs Letter of Commitment with the Palawan Provincial Government in support for the establishment of the PSU – School of Medicine. Palawan State University, headed by Dr. Ramon M. Docto, University President, signed the Letter of Commitment (LOC) with the Palawan Provincial Government headed by Governor Dennis M. Socrates at the Governor’s Conference Room, Provincial Capitol, on January 26, 2023.

The LOC states that the provincial government will support the university by ensuring the conversion of the Provincial Hospital (Ospital ng Palawan) and upgrade into a Level III Hospital which will serve as the base hospital of the medical students. The ceremonial signing took place in the presence of the officials of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) led by CHED Commissioner – Dr. Jo Mark M. Libre, together with CHED MIMAROPA Regional Director – Atty. Joselito Alisuag.

Other officials of the university including Dr. Elucila M. Sespeñe – Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Amabel S. Liao – Vice President for Finance and Administration, together with Dr. Ronie Azura – Representative from the Office of Senator Francis Escudero, Dr. Nelson Cabral – Vice President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Mindanao, and Dr. George M. Colorado – CHEDRO Caraga Regional Director. Atty. Jethro Palayon – Provincial Administrator, and Atty. Christian Jay Cojamco – Provincial Information Officer were also present in the activity.
