The event opened with leadership insights from Socio-cultural and Arts Development Services Director Engr. Dexter Tanabe and OIC President Marissa S. Pontillas, who both highlighted the vital role of the arts in fostering resilience, truth, and cultural pride. This was followed by the ceremonial banging of the gong that signaled the beginning of merriment.

The celebration featured a vibrant medley of performances from the PSU Singers, Sining Palawan Dance Troupe (SPDT) and the PalawanSU School of Talents. They showcased Philippine culture and their talents through a repertoire of traditional music and dances from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, as well as the unique local heritage of Palawan.

The program ended on a high note with Ms. Luigi Marco, the Artistic Director of the SPDT, delivering the closing remarks and inviting everyone to join the performers in dancing to “Solteros”, a well-loved Cuyonon folk song often used for community dances.
