Palawan State University (PSU) has officially renewed its partnership with the Philippine National Police 2nd Special Operations Unit–Maritime Group (PNP 2nd SOU–MG) following the signing of an agreement at the Office of the University President on October 8, 2026.

The agreement was signed by PalawanSU President Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, and PNP 2nd SOU–MG Commander PLTCOL Ronnie B. Simpao. Under the agreement, students from the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) taking Bachelor of Science in Criminology will undergo their mandatory internship and on-the-job training (OJT) at the unit’s offices and facilities.

Aligned with Commission on Higher Education (CHED) guidelines, the practical training program requires fourth-year students to complete 540 total hours—divided into 270 hours of On-The-Job Training and 270 hours of Community Immersion, alongside a 7-day Internship Deployment Training phase.

This continued collaboration equips future criminology professionals with hands-on exposure to maritime law enforcement and community safety operations while fulfilling degree requirements.
