On September 10, 2024, DSWD MIMAROPA signed a partnership agreement with fifteen (15) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) stakeholders, including Palawan State University. The ceremony, held at Armada Hotel in Manila, was attended by heads and representatives from various National Government Agencies, Civil Society Organizations, academic institutions, and financial institutions. Palawan State University President Dr. Ramon M. Docto and Engr. Jerico M. Padrones, IPQAIA, the alternate focal person for SLP in place of Engr. Geshon Gacote, the Primary Focal Person, were present during the ceremony.
Under the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the University committed to provide access to technical resources such as capacity building training for bookeeping and other livelihood skills for the program participants.
DSWD MIMAROPA Regional Director Leonardo C. Reynoso, CESO III, led the ceremonial signing and extended his gratitude to all partner stakeholders and their programs. He emphasized in his message that he is hopeful to all stakeholders to find ways on extending the partnership to other DSWD programs to help more poor, vulnerable, and marginalized individuals in the region.
Among the stakeholders present during the ceremonial signing were Marinduque State University (MaRSU), Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC), Mindoro State University (MINSU), Romblon State University (RSU), and Palawan State University (PSU) from the academe, other national agencies present were the Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), First Consolidated Bank, Inc., AGREA Agricultural Communities International Foundation Incorporated, and Roadbook Centre Inc.
