Palawan State University is proud to share that three (3) faculty members namely, Lea M. Camangeg and Abrila M. Langbao from the College of Sciences and Felix A. Madriñan from PSU–Quezon successfully participated and presented their research endeavors in the 17th International Conference on Environmental and Rural Development (ICERD) held at the Royal University of Agriculture, Phnom Penh, Cambodia on March 26–29, 2026.

This year’s ICERD conference focused on how innovation and collaboration can bring meaningful change to rural areas and strengthen research initiatives with the theme “Transforming Rural Communities Through Solution-Driven Science and Digitalization for Livelihood Security.”

Profs. Camangeg and Langbao presented related studies titled, “Development of Database for Palawan Pangolin (Manis culionensis)” and “Palawan Pangolin (Manis culionensis) Food Preference,” respectively. These studies contribute to vital data to pangolin conservation. Meanwhile, Prof. Madriñan’s presentation titled, “Eco-inclusive Entrepreneurship: Strengthening Local Economies in Mt. Negmisi’s Fragile Environment” showcased strategies for sustainable economic resilience.

The University supports faculty participation in global scientific forums that foster knowledge exchange and potential collaborations in line with its strategic goals for internationalization and accreditation excellence.
