The Competition Local Advocacy Network (CLAN) successfully conducted its second orientation on the Philippine Competition Act (PCA) and the National Competition Policy (NCP) on September 30, 2024, at the PalawanSU Hostel. This follow-up session built upon the knowledge gained during the initial orientation held on July 18, 2024.
The second session delved deeper into specific aspects of competition law and policy. Participants were provided with a more in-depth understanding of anti-competitive agreements, and abuse of dominant position. Experts discussed real-world case studies to illustrate the practical application of the PCA and its implications for businesses.
The orientation also featured discussions on the role of the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) in enforcing the PCA. Participants learned about the PCC’s investigative and adjudicatory powers, as well as its efforts to promote competition awareness and education.
The CLAN’s continued commitment to educating the public on competition law and policy is evident through these orientation sessions. By providing a platform for learning and discussion, the CLAN aims to foster a more competitive business environment and protect the interests of consumers.
