Commencement ceremonies are a time to celebrate achievements and new beginnings. This year, many graduates will walk across the stage with an extra reason to be proud – recognition for their academic excellence through the CHED UniFAST Academic Excellence Award.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in partnership with the Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST), honors outstanding students who are beneficiaries of Republic Act (RA) 10931, also known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act. This award acknowledges exceptional individuals who have thrived academically while receiving financial assistance from the program. The recipients include: Ms. Wellane Grace L. Billante, Magna Cum Laude from PalawanSU Brooke’s Point Campus, Mr. Ian Jane P. Branzuela, Magna Cum Laude from PalawanSU Quezon Campus, and Ms. Ann Janine P. Locsin, Magna Cum Laude from PalawanSU Narra Campus. These recipients are all testaments to the transformative power of education and the unwavering commitment of Filipino students, and their accomplishments serve as a beacon of hope, not only for their fellow graduates but for aspiring scholars across the nation.
