On February 16, the American Corner Puerto Princesa hosted a quick interactive session with the US Embassy Regional English Language Officer (RELO) Jeff McIlvenna.
During the event, 25 selected students from the BSEd English and BA Political Science programs, along with University student leaders, had a rare opportunity to interact with a seasoned foreign diplomat.
RELO McIlvenna shared his experiences as a diplomat, the role of the English language in bridging gaps and connecting people across the world, and encouraged students to pursue foreign service careers.
The activity is part of the US Embassy’s mission, through the American Corner, to foster understanding about the United States and promote English language learning in the Philippines as friends, partners, and allies.
