A significant milestone for Palawan State University (PalawanSU) was marked today, September 5, 2024, as the institution officially broke ground for its new Faculty Research Training Center.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the PalawanSU Main Campus and was attended by esteemed university officials headed by Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, Vice-President for Finance and Administration, and the Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Office of the University President, Dr. Maila N. Lucero, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Marjorie A. Española, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension, Dr. Nelly I. Mendoza, Chief Administrative Officer, Dr. Merlina G. Rago, Chief Finance Officer, other university officials, faculty union officers led by Dr. Janet B. Oab, Faculty Union President and Member of the Board of Regents, deans, directors, faculty members, and administrative staff.

The Faculty Research Training Center is a crucial addition to PalawanSU’s infrastructure, designed to foster a collaborative and innovative environment for faculty research and development. The state-of-the-art facility will provide researchers with modern equipment, ample workspace, and access to cutting-edge technologies. The new center is anticipated to elevate PalawanSU’s research capacity, and to draw in researchers from both within and beyond the university, and from domestic and international academic circles.

As the construction of the Faculty Research Training Center progresses, PalawanSU looks forward to the positive impact it will have on the university’s research output, academic reputation, and overall contribution to the advancement of knowledge.
Under the leadership of its President and Member of the Board of Regents, Dr. Janet B. Oab, the Faculty Union Officers, in collaboration with the university research office, spearheaded the establishment of the Faculty Research Training Center.
