During his formative years, Muksin III H. Ibrahim, also known by many as “Jiro,” demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities. He served as the President of the Student Pupil Government and graduated as Valedictorian at Rafael R. Estiandan Elementary School. In high school, he continued to serve as a student leader, being Brooke’s Point National High School’s Supreme Student Government President, Brooke’s Point Municipal Federation President, and Palawan Provincial Federation Vice President. Notably, he achieved consistent honors as a Special Science Class student at BPNHS.
His outstanding academic prowess led to an extraordinary opportunity when he was selected as one of the Top 30 Filipino students to study in the United States of America under the prestigious Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program back in 2014-15. He then went on to study at South Jefferson High School in New York, USA, where he learned more about diversity and inclusivity, vital components of his projects today.
Upon returning to the Philippines, he pursued higher education at Palawan State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration majoring in Financial Management. He graduated as Summa Cum Laude of this institution.
Throughout his college years, he consistently attained academic excellence, being a recipient of the President’s Merit Award for every semester. Additionally, he served as the President of the university’s Student Government for two (2) years. His exceptional leadership skills were recognized with a leadership excellence award bestowed by the university upon his graduation.
Notably, even while dedicating himself to his studies, Jiro continued to excel on the international stage. In 2017, he was selected as one of the forty (40) international leaders from around the world to represent nearly thirty (30) countries at the Greenheart Global Leaders Conference held in Washington, DC, USA. His exemplary representation of the Philippines earned him a subsequent invitation to the same program in 2018, by which time, he served as a co-facilitator.
Jiro’s dedication to community service also led him to secure two project funding grants from international organizations. In 2019, he reached greater heights in international leadership when he was chosen as one of the top six (6) international leaders to comprise the Alumni Global Council. This position allowed him to attend yet another competitive international conference held annually in Chicago, USA, with his advocacies focusing primarily on Social Justice, International mission-driven businesses, and Environmental Sustainability.
Currently, Jiro is on the verge of completing his Masters in Business Administration while also pursuing various certifications in leadership and additional specializations. His commitment to personal and professional growth is truly commendable.
Furthermore, Jiro’s dedication to public service is evident through his prior roles as an SK Chairperson for three years, an instructor at Palawan State University for nearly two years, and his tenure as the head of a department within the Local Government Unit of Brooke’s Point, where he served as the Municipal Information Officer from 2021 until the first quarter of 2022. Presently, he contributes his expertise as an Administrative Officer IV (HRMO II) at the Municipal Government of Brooke’s Point in the Province of Palawan, Philippines.
Just last March, Jiro went back to the United States as he was invited as a resource speaker and facilitator in the YES Changemaker’s Workshop and Educational Cultural Affairs Workshop, two international workshops organized by the AFS Intercultural Programs USA and the State Department of the United States.
Jiro is a great example of a real youth ambassador, as he excels both in his professional career and in leadership. Despite being a full-time government employee, Jiro always finds time to conceptualize and implement community projects. Among his most recent projects are: Mastering the Art of Hosting (Hosting Skill Training Workshop), #SpeakUP: A Public Speaking Workshop, #WeAllCan (An Annual Community Outreach Project), and many more.
In his speech at the ECA Workshop in Virginia, USA, last March 26, Jiro eloquently conveyed his deeply held belief, stating, “I embrace the world as my home and humanity as my family.” This sentiment encapsulates Jiro’s overarching philosophy of inclusivity, compassion, and global citizenship. Through his tireless dedication to fostering understanding and cooperation across cultures, Jiro exemplifies the transformative power of empathy and collaboration in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.
Jiro’s remarkable journey—from his early years of academic excellence and leadership to his impactful contributions on the international stage and steadfast commitment to public service—serves as an inspiration to all. His unwavering dedication to personal growth, professional advancement, and the betterment of his community exemplifies the true spirit of leadership and global citizenship. As Jiro continues to make strides in his endeavors, his vision of embracing humanity as one family continues to resonate, illuminating a path of hope, unity, and boundless possibility for generations to come.
