The College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) celebrated the Internship Completion Ceremony for the Class of 2024 under the theme “Cultivating Excellence: Honoring Growth and Success” on June 14, 2024, at Costa Palawan Resort in Puerto Princesa City.
The ceremony began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Evelyn B. Tomas, Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy, who commended the graduating students for their accomplishments and expressed her pride in their commitment. Subsequently, messages of congratulations and encouragement were delivered by Prof. Juris Ednilao on behalf of Dr. Carlos Alfonso C. Salvador, Vice-President for Student Affairs and Services; Hon. Victor Oliveros, representing City Mayor Hon. Lucilo R. Bayron; Atty. Julius N. Quevas from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC); and Atty. Robelito Rumpon from the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office. They recognized the outstanding performance of the student trainees and announced the recruitment of interns into their respective offices.
The event included insightful discussions led by notable speakers. Ms. Elena B. Remolazo, proprietor of Siblings Café, shared her entrepreneurial journey, highlighting the importance of adaptability, resilience, and self-reliance. Atty. Jocelyn B. Fabello-Gimpaya, Director of the University Legal Office, offered insights on fundamental laws and regulations pertinent to professional environments. Dr. Mary Joy Abueg, Unit Head of Data Privacy, provided a comprehensive exploration of the nuances of the Data Privacy Act, clarifying its implications and outlining its specific requirements.
The ceremony continued with program representatives sharing their internship experiences, followed by the presentation of certificates of recognition to Partner Agencies. Dr. Lhynette T. Zambales, CBA Associate Dean and Internship Coordinator, delivered the closing remarks, concluding the event on a note of accomplishment and gratitude.
