November 17, 2022 – PSU Extension Office Director attains Full-Fledged Professorship
Dr. Rodolfo O. Abalus Jr., the University Extension Services Office Director of Palawan State University, has been accredited as a FULL-FLEDGED ACCREDITED PROFESSOR by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) on October 21, 2022.

Out of ninety-four candidates from State Universities and Colleges of MIMAROPA and CALABARZON covered by the Southern Tagalog Association of State Universities and Colleges (STRASUC), the UESO Director was one of the seventeen who passed the initial screening on October 07, 2022 and was later scheduled for final screening and interview on October 16-18 of the same year. He attended the final screening and interview at Batangas State University by the Regional Accreditation Committee headed by the Chairman, Dr. Levy Arago, President of STRASUC.

A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Dr. Abalus is a faculty of College of Sciences at Palawan State University for nearly two decades. He started as Instructor III when he joined PSU in 2005. After 17 years in the institution, Abalus was promoted as Associate Professor II on March 2022 and recently accredited as Full-Fledged Professor.
He earned his Master’s Degree and Doctorate Degree in Forestry at the University of the Philippines – Los Baños in the years 2013 and 2017, respectively.
In an interview with Dr. Abalus, he said that he really aimed for this position just like all other faculty do, though he did not expect that he will pass. “Actually, blessing ‘yon ng Panginoon…with little preparation and more prayers, God guided me into this stint”, Abalus added.
