Another momentous flag raising ceremony was held at Palawan State University (PalawanSU) on August 19, 2024 as the institution celebrated the achievements of its faculty and students. The event was marked by the awarding of certificates of recognition, popularly known as the WOW Award, to outstanding individuals who excelled in their respective fields.
The spotlight shone on the university’s College of Arts and Humanities as two (2) of its faculty members namely: Dr. Rowena G. Fernandez, and Dr. Lorizza Mae P. Gacott were bestowed with the WOW Award for successfully passing the August 2024 Psychologist Computer-Based Licensure Examination. Their unwavering dedication and expertise have undoubtedly contributed to the department’s reputation for producing competent and compassionate psychologists. Moreover, Ms. Evangeline Nolasco Dela Cruz from the Office of the Student Affairs and Services, was also honored with the WOW Award for passing the Guidance Counselor Licensure Examination. Their achievement is a testament to their commitment to providing exceptional guidance and support to students.
In recognition of their exemplary performance and dedication to their work, two staff members namely: Mr. Leo Desingano, and Sergio Ramboyong, were also awarded the WOW Award for Going the Extra Mile (GEM). Their contributions have significantly impacted the university’s overall operations and have set a standard of excellence for others to follow. These prestigious awards were conferred by the esteemed Supervising Administrative Officer for Administration, Sir Francisco III O. Baluyut, and Mam Christine Guzman from the Office of the Human Resource Management Department, and was graced by the presence of the esteemed university officials.
The flag raising ceremony turned even more celebratory as PalawanSU’s secondary level was recognized for its outstanding performance in the MIMAROPA Meet 2024 held in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro. The school proudly received the 2nd highest number of gold medals, a feat that was acknowledged with the awarding of a trophy by representatives from the City Department of Education, Mr. Rufino B. Foz, Assistant Superintendent, and Mr. Ambrocio E. Escorpiso, Sports Coordinator. The trophy was received by Zig Brad Esperanza from the Laboratory Senior High, a gold medalist in Table Tennis. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students, coaches, and faculty members who supported their endeavors.
The flag raising ceremony served as a platform to inspire and motivate the entire PalawanSU community. It was a celebration of excellence, hard work, and the pursuit of knowledge. As the university continues to strive for greater heights, these achievements serve as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the institution’s unwavering commitment to producing competent and well-rounded individuals.
