March 10, 2023 –  The PSU Multi-Purpose Cooperative conducted its Annual General Assembly Meeting held at the PSU Performing Arts Center (PAC). It was attended by over 200 members, consisting of the faculty and staff of the university.

Dr. Romeo A. Valdez, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, delivered his opening remarks, followed by Dr. Erlinda A. Ganapin, Chairman of the Board of Directors who served as presiding officer and administered the Business Proper. Ms. Jessica E. Rodriguez, PSU Multi-Purpose Cooperative Manager, and Engr. Leo Eusev P. Palao, then presented the Management Report. Meanwhile, during the business proper, all candidates for the Board of Directors have been given the opportunity to deliver their speeches to the cooperative members. The amendments to the articles of Cooperation and By-Laws, membership fees and capitalization were also discussed during the assembly, and new PSU-MPC officers were elected.

In the conduct of the election, the available positions are four (4) Board of Directors (BOD), three (3) Audit and Inventory Committee, and three (3) Election Committee.

The newly elected Board of Directors to serve for two years in the PSU-MPC are as follows:

  • Prof. John Glenn Guanzon (1st)
  • Dr. Ma. Teresita Jardinico (2nd)
  • Prof. Restie Allan Puno (3rd)
  • Prof. Jose Mana-ay (4th)
  • Prof. Primo Domingo Palatino (4th)

Prof. Mana-ay and Prof. Palatino are tied to take the 4th place. In that case, the committee decided to divide their term into one year per individual.

For the Audit and Inventory Committee, three candidates ran and filled the three vacant positions and they are:

  • Prof. Noel Almasco
  • Prof. Leah Tubac
  • Mr. Ahiron Tukasim

While for the Election Committee, three candidates also ran and filled the three vacant positions, including:

  • Prof. Shirley Dangan
  • Prof. Adoracion Eleazar 
  • Prof. Silvany Delight Gastanes.

Meanwhile, the PSU-MPC would like to congratulate the following individuals who won the major prizes during the raffle promo administered during the Annual General Assembly:

  • Mr. Martin Arib – 1st Prize
  • Ms. Candelaria Sumandal – 2nd Prize
  • Ms. Ejeline Angcap – 3rd Prize
  • Prof. Jose Mana-ay – 4th Prize
