The two-day Tri-Campus General Orientation on AACCUP Institutional Accreditation was successfully held on September 24–25, 2026, at the Amphitheater of the Palawan State University Tiniguiban Campus, bringing together academic leaders, faculty, and administrators from the PalawanSU Main Campus, PalawanSU Roxas Campus, and Western Philippines University (WPU) to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
The first day opened with a registration session followed by the Opening Program, which included preliminaries led by the PalawanSU Singers. Dr. Maryann A. Artizuela, IPQAIA Director and UQAC Deputy Director from PalawanSU provided the Welcome Statement, while Mr. Richard T. Urmenita, QA Director from WPU introduced the participants. Messages were delivered by University Presidents Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada (PalawanSU) and Dr. Amabel S. Liao (WPU), underscoring the collaborative commitment to higher education excellence.
Following an artistic performance by the Sining Palawan Dance Troupe, Prof. Marissa S. Pontillas introduced the keynote resource speaker, Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, Executive Director of AACCUP. Dr. Enriquez-Ho delivered a keynote message and led the primary morning session on “Preparing for the Institutional Accreditation Survey”. In the afternoon session, Dr. Enriquez-Ho presented “The IA Portfolio: Guide to Preparing Documents for the conduct of Institutional Accreditation Survey”. Participants then engaged in Workshops I and II, analyzing Palawan State University data across nine key assessment areas: Governance and Management, Teaching, Learning and Evaluation, Faculty and Staff, Research, Extension, Consultancy and Linkages, Support to Students, Library, Infrastructure and Other Learning Resources, and Quality Assurance Culture.
The day’s activities were guided by Master of Ceremonies Eden L. Mabanglo, setting a comprehensive foundation for the ongoing accreditation process.
