This morning, March 23, 2026, Hon. Congressman Franz Vincent F. Legazpi, representative from the Pinoy Workers Partylist, and college officials from the Bulacan State Agricultural College led by Dr. Ronald Reagan T. Alonzo, their Vice President for Finance and Administration joined the Palawan State University community in the weekly flag ceremony.
The seven(?) BASC officials are in the City to attend a seminar and to conduct benchmarking activities on PalawanSU’s procurement systems, Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) operations, internal controls, and overall best practices.
In a gesture of institutional humility and leadership, OIC President Prof. Marissa S. Pontillas chose to forgo her traditional weekly updates to provide Congressman Legazpi the platform to directly address the community.
Cong. Legazpi thanked the community for welcoming him back and paid tribute to his former mentors at the Laboratory Elementary and Junior High Schools, acknowledging the profound impact of their dedication and unwavering patience. Reflecting on his trajectory from the university’s classrooms to the halls of the 20th Congress, Cong. Legazpi recognized the transformative power of education and mentorship.
“Who would have imagined,” he noted, “that the lessons learned within these walls would eventually lead to a seat in the House of Representatives?” His message served as a powerful testament to the university’s legacy of nurturing leaders and inspiring the current generation of students to appreciate their academic foundation as a stepping stone to national service.
This week’s flag ceremony was hosted by the College of Teacher Education (CTE)’s Integrated Laboratory Schools-Junior High School Department.
