Yesterday, February 24, 2026, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Palawan commended Palawan State University (PalawanSU) for its outstanding achievements in the international academic community, specifically, the University as an exemplary global player in Philippine Higher Education at the CHED ICONS Awards 2025 and its ranking as 342nd in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2025.
The ceremony took place during the august body’s regular session at the Legislative Building, Provincial Capitol Complex. Officer-in-Charge Marissa S. Pontillas, along with the Vice Presidents and other university officials, received the award on behalf of the University and expressed gratitude for the recognition.
The Sanggunian lauded the University for bringing honor not only to the Province of Palawan, but also to the entire MIMAROPA Region. OIC Pontillas noted that this recognition further reinforces the shared commitment between the provincial government and the University toward academic excellence and global innovation.
