The University proudly congratulates Christopher Gregorio, Alecks Mari Zita, Vandoniel Dongcoy, and Relan Nahid, Jr. from Palawan State University Rizal Campus as their team, the Innovators’ Guild Agri-Initiatives won the Provincial Level Championship in the 2025 for the Department of Agriculture’s Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) MIMAROPA for their startup agri-initiative, an autonomous rover for rice seeding/planting.

Equipped with GPS and advanced sensors, the rover automates rice seeding to ensure precise seed placement, reduce spacing errors, and shorten seeding/planting time which makes it highly beneficial for farmers who rely heavily on manual labor.

The team accepted their award at the 2025 YFC Provincial & Regional Awarding Ceremony and attended the Peer-to-Peer Business Networking and Strategic Orientation held on 19 February 2026 in Quezon City. They also received an P80,000.00 start-up grant to further develop their proposed agri-initiative.

The team acknowledged the support and mentorship that they received from their coaches, Mr. Jonmar Resegin Amihan and Ms. Sheila Amihan, the Palawan International Technology Business Incubator unit headed by Ms. Mitzi Almira Garcia, the PalawanSU Rizal Campus led by Dir. Danilo V. Espera, the Municipal Agriculture Office, the MaTeam Young Farmers Challenge, and the Municipality of Rizal led by Mayor Norman S. Ong.
