TO ALL STUDENTS, SUPPLIERS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC:

Palawan State University (PalawanSU) has been made aware of a fraudulent scheme involving an individual misrepresenting himself as university personnel. Specifically, a Facebook account under the name “Ortiz Justine” (claiming to be the “Procurement Head Manager”) has been contacting individuals to schedule meetings and soliciting payments for “entry permits.”

Palawan State University (PalawanSU) officially clarifies that the individual identified as “Ortiz Justine” is not an employee, official, or authorized representative of the Procurement Office, and the university emphasizes that it does not require any “pass permit fees” or “entry payments” to be sent via GCash, Union Digital Bank, or any personal bank accounts for meetings or campus access. As all legitimate financial transactions are conducted exclusively through the Cashier’s Office or officially designated university bank accounts, no university official will ever use a personal Facebook account to demand “proof of payment” for gate access or claim that payments will be “refunded in cash” upon arrival, this is a common tactic used in financial scams. To protect against these predatory schemes, stakeholders are urged to stop any transactions immediately.

If asked for fees via digital wallets, verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent the university by contacting the PalawanSU Administration, or the Office of Human Resource Management and Development through official channels, and report fraudulent accounts to Facebook while coordinating with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Cybercrime Division or the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.
