On April 13, 2016, faculty and staff from the Center for Strategic Policy and Governance and PSU-Cuyo launched the project entitled “Empowering Women and Men for Biodiversity Conservation in Magsaysay” in Magsaysay, Palawan.
In May 2016, Engr. Ma. Rosario Aynon Gonzales was selected as one of the four new Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) civil society representatives to the Philippine Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (PH-EITI) for 2016.
On 16-20 May 2016, Dr. Carl Smith and Dr. Russel Richards from the University of Queensland (UQ) returned to Palawan State University (PSU) for another round of CCRES core modelling team planning workshop. Participants to the workshop were teams from the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) and PSU.
The United Nations Development Programme GEF-Small Grants Programme OP5 conducted a simultaneous Training of Trainers (ToT) on Ecosystem Valuation, Community-Based Biodiversity Monitoring and Evaluation Systems, and Biodiversity-Friendly Enterprises in Baler, Aurora on May 17-24, 2016.
The Palawan State University took part as the The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) GEF-Small Grants Programme OP5 conducted a simultaneous Training of Trainers (ToT) on Ecosystem Valuation, Community-Based Biodiversity Monitoring and Evaluation Systems, and Biodiversity-Friendly Enterprises. Representing the University was Engr. Maria Rosario Aynon Gonzales, Director of the Center for Strategic Policy and Governance (CSPG).
In continuing to equip its faculty in their mission of providing quality education to students of the University, the Palawan State University conducted a four-day Faculty Conference with the theme “Responding to the Demands and Challenges of the Educational Reforms”. The activity was held at the A&A Plaza Hotel on June 14-17, 2016.
