The Palawan State University through the PSU School of Law held a lecture on October 3, 2014 regarding the legal issues involved in the territorial stand-off between the Philippines and China. The special guest speaker for the event was Hon. Francis H. Jardeleza, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
In order to better improve its services as an academic institution for higher learning, the Palawan State University underwent accreditation from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Inc. on October 6-11.
Striving to connect with the community and the local government, the Palawan State University through its National Service Training Program invited Puerto Princesa Mayor Lucilo Bayron to speak the PSU community on October 2, 2014. The program was held at the PSU Gymnasium and was attended by PSU officials, faculty, students, and staff.
With the theme “Appreciating Foreign Languages for Global Competitiveness,” the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) held its Foreign Languages Culmination Day program on September 29, 2014 at the PSU Gymnasium. The program served as a way for students enrolled in foreign language subjects to showcase the skills that they have acquired over the semester, as well as a way to celebrate the rich cultures of other countries.
Two faculty members from the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) Engr. Jezreel Tuquero and Melchor Jaramilla. attended the 21st International Training Program on Small Hydropower Development at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. The training was held on September 15-26, 2014.
The Palawan State University recently partook in the annual MILO Marathon Puerto Princesa Elimination Race, held on September 7, 2014. More than 2,000 participants from PSU, including PSU faculty, staff, and students enrolled under the National Service Training Program (NSTP) joined the marathon.
