Puerto Princesa City – The Palawan State University conducted its first mandatory drug testing of employees in the Performing Arts Centre last January 9-13, 2017.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 1,572 out of 3,085 takers passed the Midwife Licensure Examination given by the Board of Midwifery in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last November 2016.
In their efforts to promote quality education, the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. conducted an Accreditation Survey Visit (Level III- Ph 2) in the curricular programs of Palawan State University last December 9-11, 2016. The said survey visit was made to evaluate the educational activities of PSU in order to confirm if it substantially achieves its objectives, and if it is equally comparable to other institutions in the Philippines.
The PSU School of Law once again commemorates another milestone in its history as one of the most outstanding law schools in Region IV-B as it held a Testimonial Dinner for the seven new Bar Examination Passers. The event was held on July 22 at the Legend Hotel Palawan. The event was attended by PSU officials, faculty from the School of Law, and law students themselves.
As one of the key players in the MIMAROPA Region for the implementation of the K-12 program, the Palawan State University hosted a training workshop for the National Implementation of Senior High School Teacher Training for Local and State Universities and Colleges.
The search has winded down to four candidates from different backgrounds, each qualified for the position. The candidates are Rev. Fr. Eugene S. Elivera, , Dr. Nelly I. Mendoza, Dr. Gabilyn G. Orilla, and Dr. Hanlie A. Taha. Each of the candidates has held and managed different positions and offices throughout their careers. In relation to this, PSU held a Public Forum on July 18, 2016 at the Performing Arts Center, which was attended by University officials, students, faculty, staff, and representatives of different sectors, as well as guests.
