As one of the key players in the MIMAROPA Region for the implementation of the K-12 program, the Palawan State University hosted a training workshop for the National Implementation of Senior High School Teacher Training for Local and State Universities and Colleges.

The training event was held on June 10-12, 2016 and was made possible through the cooperation between PSU and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Dr. Virginia Akiate, CHED IV-B Director, was present at the opening ceremony of the workshop and greeted everyone in attendance, which included faculty and school officials from different educational institutions in Puerto Princesa. According to her, it was important that the implementation of K-12 be handled with the utmost care and preparation. PSU Vice-President for Academic Affairs Lorna Gelito was also present at the event, and expressed her support for the K-12 transition.

The training workshop was held at the PSU main campus, in which faculty were divided into different groups and rooms based on the subjects they will be handling. Team activities, brainstorming sessions and presentations were among the many activities conducted throughout the workshop.
