The Palawan State University conducted a lecture on Enhancing Teachers’ Communication Skills, held on June 8, 2017 as part of the 2017 Faculty and Staff Conference. Held at the Teresita L. Salva Library Building, the activity was attended by various faculty members from the different PSU campuses, as well as PSU personnel.

The lecture was helmed by Prof. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, head of the University’s Public Relations, Information and Media Office. She gave a detailed discussion on the importance of teachers in honing and practicing proper communication skills in the classroom, and the impact this has on both learners and educators alike. Prof. Legazpi stressed that teachers should always strive to incorporate techniques which would allow them to enhance their communication skills.

She also shared her experiences when starting out in her profession as a lecturer, and urged participants to learn from their own experiences as well, so as to give them a better perspective of the improvements that they need to work on, with regard to teaching and communication.

Prof. Genoveva Gabo from the College of Arts and Humanities also spoke at the activity, and gave her insights as to how to improve communication skills. Participants were also able to give their own opinions during the training.

The University hopes to continue providing opportunities that will improve the skills of its faculty and staff.
