The PSU Information and Communications Technology Office (PSU-ICTO) formally announces the launching of the use of PSU Corporate Email for PSU administrators, staff, faculty, students, and soon- the PSU alumni members, as qualified users of the accounts. The initiative had been made possible through the University’s availment of the specific services of Google free to educational institutions in the Philippines. Among these services is the use of .edu.ph extensions for a corporate email which is now available to the aforementioned users.

As of June 16, 2014, the corporate email is already available to regular faculty and staff members of the PSU main and CCRD campuses. The rest of the users, will be given their respective email as soon as an official list of their names and their respective employee numbers are forwarded to the ICT Office. The ICT Office may accept direct request from the employees also through the ICTO contact channels at the end of this article.

To use your new corporate email, please follow these steps:

    1. Using any computer with Internet connectivity, open your favorite web browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.
    2. On the Address Bar, type in
      http://www.psu.palawan.edu.ph
    3. At the lower left-hand side of the page, click the "Check my email" link.
    4. Input username, use your (full):

    1. Enter your password that is initially set as your username followed by employee number (without spaces). See example below.

  1. Upon successful login, you will be asked to change your password. Change the password following the rules of creating passwords below. Specific instructions on how to do this will also be shown on your screen.
  2. Enjoy using the email regularly.

Rules in using Username

Usernames should strictly follow these rules uniform to all identified PSU
stakeholders:

  1. One Word. If you have two first names, use two initial letters of the two first names followed by the full last name.
  2. No spaces in between characters
  3. Not more than 30 characters.
  4. Must not contain special characters such as “#, &, !..” etc.

To use your username, combine the first letter/s of the first name/s followed
by the last name of employee. Examples are given in the following table.

Rules in Setting-Up Passwords

  1. Each password must have at least eight (8) characters.
  2. Each password must contain at least three of the following four elements among its first eight characters:
    • uppercase letters (English, A through Z)
    • lowercase letters (English, a through z)
    • special characters (for example, !, $, #, %)
    • digits (0 through 9)
  3. Do not use a space in a password.
  4. Do not form a password that may be easily guessed.
  5. Each password must differ from the user's login name and any permutation of that login name. For comparison purposes, an upper case (capital) letter and its corresponding lower case (small) letter are different.
  6. New passwords should differ from the old by at least three characters.

Important Reminders:

  1. Do not forget your usernames and passwords. Write into your private notes/pads.
  2. Do not share your password to anyone. Inquire about other facilities of the email that may allow you to perform non-routinary email-related tasks
  3. None of the ICT Personnel have access to your emails or any content of your account.
  4. For technical assistance, like request for password re-set, editing of account name, among others maybe coursed through the Web Master (email available below).
