“Palawan State University is leading in the provision of higher education in Palawan.” These were the words spoken by Dr. Heracleo Lagrada, keynote speaker and former President of then Palawan State College during the opening program of the 2017 Faculty and Staff Conference held by PSU in Puerto Princesa City.

In his keynote address, Dr. Lagrada also gave a detailed presentation on the rich history of PSU, which was initially established as the Palawan Teacher’s College in 1972. His message also highlighted the University’s key role as a provider of quality higher education.

The event was attended by University Officials, faculty, and administrative staff. The conference began on June 5 with an orientation seminar for its job-order faculty and staff, followed by a formal opening on June 6.

With the theme ‘’Looking Back and Moving Forward,’’ the event features presentations and discussions which tackle several aspects of the University’s operations, including academics, research and extension, administrative and financial matters, human resource concerns, faculty and staff development, as well as activities and developments from PSU’s many departments.

In addition, college-based meetings will be held, as well as a Summit for the PSU College of Community Resources Development (CCRD) Campuses.

The University hopes that the conference will prove to be a useful means to keep its administrators, faculty, and personnel updated on its policies, regulations, and ongoing activities in order to continuously provide excellent services for its students and constituents.
