To celebrate the Palawan State University’s 20th year of providing quality education to the people of Palawan, an anniversary program was held on November 12, 2014. The 20th University Day was themed “PSU Celebrating 20 Years of Transforming Lives.”
Led by President Jeter Sespeñe, the celebration began with a thanksgiving service held at the Performing Arts Center. President Sespeñe gave a brief message at the thanksgiving, remarking that indeed, the University has much to be thankful for, and is privileged to be in continuous service to Filipinos not only from Palawan, but from all over the country as well.
Following the thanksgiving, the main program was held in front of the PSU Marker, with arrival honors to the President.
With the whole PSU Community as his audience, President Sespeñe praised the University’s consistent efforts in striving to improve the lives of countless Palaweños.
“It is with great pride that I stand together with you today, as we indulge in this day of celebration for our beloved alma mater,” the President remarked.
Performances were given during the program by the Sining Palawan Dance Troupe, and students from the Laboratory elementary school, as well as college students. As a way of ending the day, a program entitled “The Best of PSU” was held that evening at the PSU Gym, attended by University officials, students, faculty and staff. The program featured various dance numbers and musical performances from PSU students, faculty and staff.
