In an evening full of laughter and surprises, the APSUAP held its annual Christmas party at the Commodore’s Mansion in Puerto Princesa City. No less than Palawan State University President Dr. Jeter S. Sespeñe was there to grace the event.
“I am very much convinced that now in PSU there is unity and harmony,” he said, quite impressed at the successful preparation for this year’s installment of the APSUAP Christmas party. He spoke in front of a full house composed of the staff members of the PSU family. He also recognized the notable personalities in the event and made special mention of Vice President for Finance and Administration Prof. Marilyn Pablico who incidentally just got inducted the day prior as the President of the Graduate School.
With a vote of confidence in support of the head of the APSUAP, President Sespeñe bared, “Mr Greg Rodriguez is doing fine and he is able to represent the organization well on our administrative concerns related to advancing the welfare of the non-teaching personnel in the campus.”
The President was very clear on his hopes and dreams for a better workforce, not just in the school faculty but also among the ranks of the non-teaching members of the community.
“If you would look at the way I manage the University, I invest so much in capacity building to extend to our people to level up and measure our competitive reach. As public servants, it should be our aim to serve our respective stakeholders,” he said.
Over 200 guests all came together to attend the event held at the Dampa Restaurant along Mitra Road, not too far away from the PSU main campus. In the spirit of holiday merriment, guests came to partake of the food, festivities and the live music. The traditional raffle prizes were also given to lucky winners.
Emphasizing the need to maintain a committed working attitude as part of the culture being promoted in PSU, the President later concluded, “As we receive our benefits from the national government, in return we will have to render our services.”
Not long after his address to the audience, the President candidly revealed his fun-loving side as he took the stage along with the PSU Band as he sang some of his favorite songs to the delight of a very warm crowd of administrative staff.
