In the interest of promoting discipline, goodwill and the undying passion for Philippine Basketball, the Palawan State University warmly welcomed the Philippine Basketball Association All-Stars on campus.

They are here in Palawan to celebrate the much anticipated annual All-Star Event which features the best players in the Philippine Basketball. This is actually the second time that the PBA All-Stars have come to Palawan, the last time being in 2008.

As Asia’s first ever play-for-pay basketball league, the PBA has maintained its status as the premiere commercial sports institution in the country for the last 40 years. Much of its success is attributed to its strong fan base and for this reason, the PBA has always utilized the All-Star Weekend as an annual opportunity to give back to the fans all over the Philippines.

One of the sectors in which the PBA has always tried to promote sports is the youth. It is with this that they have chosen to select the Palawan State University as one of the key stops in their tour.

On Friday, March 6, 2015, all indications have shown that their trip to the PSU was a huge success. Students, Faculty and Staff from the whole PSU community were graced with the presence of the best basketball players in the country. The mere presence of the PBA players has inspired hope, determination and most importantly, excellence, which has been the battle cry of PSU President Dr. Jeter S. Sespeñe.

Included in the agenda for the PBA All-Stars is a set of visits in selected areas in Palawan wherein they are set to be involved in environment-related as well as community-related activities.

The PBA All-Star Weekend shall culminate in the 2015 North vs. South All Star Game which features the most excellent players from the North and South of the Philippines in a rare and highly-anticipated exhibition match at Puerto Princesa Coliseum on March 8, 2015.
