The Palawan State University took part as the The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) GEF-Small Grants Programme OP5 conducted a simultaneous Training of Trainers (ToT) on Ecosystem Valuation, Community-Based Biodiversity Monitoring and Evaluation Systems, and Biodiversity-Friendly Enterprises. Representing the University was Engr. Maria Rosario Aynon Gonzales, Director of the Center for Strategic Policy and Governance (CSPG).

Due to her expertise, Engr. Gonzales also served as a resource speaker for the event, which was held on May 17-24 in Baler, Aurora.

The week-long activity was focused on developing a guidebook specializing in Ecosystem Valuation,Biodiversity Monitoring and Evaluation Systems, and Biodiversity-Friendly Enterprises. Participants to the event also had the opportunity to take part in field hands-on activities to apply the skills and theories they learned throughout the workshop.
